Lisa O'Connell is a multi-disiplinary artist and designer.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design and got her start designing mass produced packaging for toys, food, toothpaste and shampoo at several big Boston agencies for clients including Gillette, Pillsbury, Colgate and Parker Brothers.
She owned award winning restaurants for over a decade (the former Chez Henri in Cambridge, MA and the former Providence Restaurant in Brookline, MA) and specialized in hospitality design.
In 2010 Lisa launched Snap Kick Studio, a small graphic design company specializing in print. Clients include Central Print Source, Baystate Financial, This Is Custom, and the US Department of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
The Hand-Crafted Department of Snap Kick Studio opened in 2011 crafting art and design by hand, with care, one at a time. The Hand-Crafted Department sells handmade crafts and fine art through local galleries, at select Art Festivals, Open Studios and on Etsy.
Lisa's fine art has been exhibited in solo shows at the Austin Public Library, the former Flora restaurant in Arlington MA and the former Chez Henri in Cambridge MA . She has exhibited in multiple group shows in Austin TX including the quirky Blue Genie Art Bazaar. She continues to sell work at Prima Dora and ATown both in Austin.
In addition to visual arts Lisa has practiced martial arts since 1999 and earned a 2nd degree black belt. Her favorite weapon to practice is the Chinese Broadsword.
Lisa spends her free time playing guitar, writing and recording music.
She recently relocated to Penobscot County, Maine from Austin, TX.
